Lakeland Scarf
Designed by Elizabeth Springett
Taking inspiration from nature, and as a nod to the beautiful Scottish Highland tartans and plaids, the colors in this scarf represent a forested lake scene with an accent of early dawn poking through. Tartan and plaid have subtle but distinct differences. A tartan’s color arrangement must be a 2/2 Twill woven at a 45 degree angle and follow the sett as recorded by a clan. A plaid is any arrangement of colored warp stripes of varying widths woven with weft threads of the same color and in the same order. The Lakeland Scarf is a plaid that looks like a tartan.
